Bursa Brunello
Heritage: Bursa, Turkey | Weave: Heavy-Gauge Tapestry
The Story: The Merchant's Commission Sourced from the historic looms of Bursa, Turkey—the legendary terminus of the Silk Road—this textile pays tribute to a centuries-old trade relationship. Historically, while local Ottoman styles favored vibrant silks, visiting Italian merchants would commission fabrics in deeper, earthier tones to suit the refined tailoring of Florence and Venice. Bursa Brunello is a modern revival of that specific "Merchant's Commission"—uniting Turkish craft with an Italian color palette.
The Color: Tobacco & Obsidian We call this colorway "Brunello" to describe its rich, burnished character—reminiscent of cured tobacco leaf or aged saddle leather.
-
The Look: Matte sepia floral threads are tightly woven against a pitch-black obsidian ground.
-
The Versatility: This unique combination creates a "chameleon" effect. The fabric reads as deep brown in the sun and black in the shadow, allowing these shoes to pair effortlessly with both black trousers and brown denim.
The Texture: "Textile Leather" This is not a delicate silk. It is a high-density tapestry weave chosen for its architectural strength. With a "dry hand" and raised relief pattern, it offers the durability of canvas with the sophistication of embroidery, resisting creases and scuffs better than traditional brocades.
